The new year is starting off very well! We were very blessed this Christmas season. As a family of four we traveled over 20 hours to visit family and friends. Hudson and Ginger were great travelers. Hudson is now 17 weeks old and growing like a weed. We are having so much fun watching his personality develop each and every day. He is a very happy baby and we cherish the time that we have together. I started back to school this week and Hudson is back to day care. He is making new friends and having fun. Hudson loves music especially the song "Take Me Out To The Ballgame"! Each time one of us sings the song he cannot make eye contact quick enough and has a continuous smile on his face. Hudson is making all sorts of noises. He talks to his dad often; Brock interprets his coos as . . . "I love you dad!". Hudson loves to stand up and see the world and is sitting quite well with minimal support. In the mornings he sits in his Bumbo chair and laughs at himself in the mirror. Brock has taken on the role of singing, dancing, and getting Hudson ready for the day each morning. I love to listen to them through the monitor in our room . . . don't tell Brock I'm listening! It starts my morning off great each day.

Eating, Sleeping, Pooping . . . & Smiling This Week!

Well, I'm five weeks old and still growing big and strong! This week I started smiling and I decided to goo and coo with mom and dad. I'm very excited that Halloween is around the corner, I've already got my costume picked out. This first picture is just a teaser for what is to come. I miss you all and wish I could trick or treat all of your houses for some goodies:) Before I go I wanted to let you know that I'm getting better at going out! I went to the mall, Target, dinner, the park, and over to some friends' houses all this week. I will continue to keep you posted . . . The main thing is that I'm having fun!!

There has been a lot going on since I was born. I've seen the doctor a couple times with great reports, been out to eat with mom and dad a couple times, been to KC to visit family, and have even been to Oakley. I'm feeling pretty darn good lately. I hear time and time how cute I am and people hug and kiss me a lot. Well, I've been eating, sleeping, watching a lot of baseball with dad since the playoffs are on, and have been spending a ton of time with my big sis Ginger. I think she gets jealous from time to time, but we're pretty tight.

Well, I've grown about an inch and a half, gained about a pound, so I'm filling out quite nicely. I'm eating about every 2-3 hours and my sleep patterns are hit or miss. I'll find a schedule before long. The main thing is that I'm having fun and love all this attention I'm getting! Until next time, peace out and know that I appreciate everything that all of you do for me and my folks. I sure am blessed!

Play Ball! Hudson Douglas Smith Has Arrived!

Finally, we have our blog up and going for everybody to view. Hudson was born on Saturday, September 13th at 11:17am. He weighed in at 7 pounds and 3 ounces with very large hands and feet for his size. Brock likes his chances...(MLB, NBA, NFL, PGA) who knows? Words cannot describe this incredible experience and the excitement surrounding finally getting to meet our son. We may be a bit partial, but Hudson is arguably the most handsome little fellow we've ever seen. Attached are some pictures for you to decide for yourself. :)

Week 1 has been been a week of adjustments in becoming Mom & Dad. It has gone very well and things are starting to become more habitual every single day. Feeding has been the biggest challenge so far, but even that is starting to click. Hudson has been out of the house 3 times so far: once to the doctor, once to Culver's to grab a quick meal, and once to Outback that wasn't so quick. Let's just say that Mom and Dad didn't really get to eat together because Hudson decided he was hungry at the same time. The steak must have smelt good to him too...

We feel extremely blessed to have Hudson home and doing well. Liz is feeling great and Hudson's follow up doctor visit went well too. Ginger has done well so far adapting to little bro and is very protective & curious. The Smith family is now up to 4 and growing... Stay tuned. It is our intention to post pictures and an update every week or two showing what "Hud the Stud" has been up to.
